We established the NRMC to connect the Rockford community with high quality music and exceptional artists.  More than this, however, we hope establish our collaborative as a community organization.  In our view, the most important way in which we can do this is through educational outreach.

Every member of our collaborative has devoted a great deal of time refining their craft.  We all love what we do, and love to share our passion with others.   It is our hope to be able spread our love for music to Rockford’s up and coming young musicians.  As part of this effort, we have decided to open the dress rehearsals for every concert that we produce so that young musicians can watch what goes into music making at a professional level.

As we continue to grow as an organization, we also plan on making members of the collaborative available to come to schools as guest lecturers providing specialized content including music history, performance practice, clinics for choirs and ensembles, as well as programming on the psychology and cognition of music.  By synchronizing these events with our performance schedule, it is our goal to provide this programming to schools at no cost.

If you are interested in having one of our artists come to teach in your school, please reach out to us at 815.494.3070
